I was looking back at how few posts I have actually been submitting during the month of November and I am appalled. I was so ready to conquer the blogging world again this month at its outset, but that got derailed by my baby getting sick, then myself, then the hubby. I actually have been accomplishing a lot and really looking forward to what the very near future holds.
I finally recorded a couple of videos of personal live performances of You Grant Wish, a capella, and my rendition of ‘If I Could” with some accompaniment music. My hubby figured out how to get “If I Could” up on YouTube, but I haven’t had a chance to figure out how to input it into my website. Babysteps…I’ve gotta keep telling myself that i just need to take babysteps when I do things. I have no nanny, so its just me, so things takes a little longer to get done, so that I can still spend quality time with the family.
I am so excited because the hubby expressed his interest in producing some music for me. He is excellent at making beats. So stayed tuned for where this all leads. We are looking into the cost of putting together a home based studio, and also planning to take some classes on studio engineering and producing, etc… You know I am excited about the possibility of being able to complete a song without waiting to try to get some studio time. I also can’t wait to see what my baby girl does when she is surrounded by music as she grows up.

I am excited to say that I am coming to a close of the first 30 days of the 90 day Challenge. I was looking back at my goals for the Challenge and I think I have made a few adjustments along the way. My goals consisted of balancing family, health, singing career, and my spiritual health. I think the ones that really stayed on top of the most was the commitment to my family and spending quality time with my baby girl and hubby, and blogging on my singer songwriter website so that you, my fans, friends, family can really get to know me. The blogging actually is also helping me gain clarity in the direction that I want to take my career at this time. Of course I’ll be sharing that “Ah Ha” clarity with you every step of the way.
I haven’t been video taping myself singing, so that has to be something that I push through to do asap. It’s ridiculous. I haven’t been setting aside the time to showcase myself to my own “peeps”. I know you all support me and lift me up…I think the fear of being seen all over the world wide web performing, which is my dream, is getting in the way. Also questioning the “what if’s”…what if I sing the wrong somg, What if people start talking about me?”…etc. I’ve gotta listen to my own advise about FEAR, “False Evidence Appearing Real”. You may have read the blog I had saying “Don’t Be Sciirred”, talking about conquering your fears by facing them head-on.
I have also gotta get my online store up and going. Everyone is asking what things they will be seeing in the store other than music…well, your gonna have to wait on that. I am still making up my mind on what I would like to offer that really imparts some value into your quality of life. The next 30 days is going to be more awesome than the first. I’ll also track my workout regimen better…I think I’m down about 5 pounds. Now it’s time to step up my exercise routine, not that baby girl is finally sleeping through the night. Why don’t you join me now in doing the Challenge and making the end of 2009 the best time in your life.

I came up with a little hook to a song that just popped into my head when my baby girl started strumming my acoustic guitar. She’s only 14 months so no she really can’t “play” the guitar but something she kept plucking actually sounded a little jazzy, neo soulish and just inspired me to sing certain lyrics. I promise to share them when I am finshed writing the song. You know as a songwriter, you never know when you will finish one song over the next. Sometimes I can write a whole song in 30 minutes. Other times it can take me weeks, even months to finish with the inspiration. But I am challenging myself to get a song compelty written by next Tuesday…yeah Tuesday right?
So, I had a doctors appointment today and my blood pressure is up. What? That has never happened to me. I’m thinking its the remnants of the guacamole and chips I was downing on my Cabo vacation a few weeks ago. Gotta work on getting it down. I might be putting too much on myself with my challenges (the 90 Day and the 7 Day Shot), which may be stressing me out, which, I don’t think is manifesting externally, because I don’t seem anxious or anything like that. Instead the stress maybe manifesting internally, so I really need to get some rest and remain unstressed. I just wrote a blog that I entitled “Too Blessed To Be Stressed”. I need to slow down and make sure that remains the case.
Hopefully, if you are reading this you are also receive my newsletter too. Go ahead and sign up for it at the top right.

Today was such a beautiful day that I packed up my baby girl and brought along my sister Natasha for nice get away to Santa Monica. We walked along the Santa Monica Promenade and had a great time people watching and enjoying all of the street musicians out there. Lailah was mesmerized by this one guy out there that could play the heck out of the drums. I have never seen a drummer…just a drummer, as a street musician, but this guys was ridiculously awesome…just off the chain. Baby girl just had to get her dance on! It was so hilarious watching her bob her head and dance around to the drumming…my baby got rhythm already!this was a day that she was fascinated by so many things. There was another street musician that played the guitar and sang. She just recently has been picking on my guitar at home…so when this guy was finished with his set, she just had to go and strum on his guitar a bit. He was nice enough to let her do it. Can you imagine this little baby walking up to you to you like “can I play your guitar?” First off, I am sure he was surprised she was walking ’cause she’s so little…only stands about 28′ tall. Then she’s pointing like crazy at the guitar, then she actually can strum it a bit. Could this rant of admiration over my baby girl be just her Mommy’s adoration? Naaahhh…she really is an amazing baby.
We then walked over to Santa Monica Pier, which was awesome. I thought, no wonder tourist come from all over the world to Los Angeles, as I overheard a couple speaking a language that I totally did not recognize, eventhough I think I am rather worldly and am familiar with a number of languages. I couldn’t even tell you what it sounded like. We walked along the pier to make our way to the ice cream stand and enjoy some great frozen yogurt. Then Lailah took her first carisalle ride. It was like a mini-vacation for the just the day.
When we came back home I played the guitar a bit (not really that good…yet) and sang, while Lailah danced and sang. I think I have another little music fanatic in the family…

OMG! Scary Spice (Mel B) has the body I want to have even after having a baby. Have you seen her.? She has, like, 12 pack
abs. I had to insert a picture just for reference. Someone was telling me that she does 1000 crunches every other day. I have to start doing some core workouts ’cause my back is killing from lifting my baby girl all the time.
I am on a mission to get in shape as part of my 90 day Challenge. I have been doing really well with the nutrition aspect and am now kicking up the exercise. Today I ran about a mile and a half before getting ready to attack my work for the day. It felt great, but I felt really heavy while doing it. I haven’t really run, which is my favorite exercise, in about 3 weeks. The second week of my vacation I totally fell off of doing any workouts, and the first week back at work I totally didn’t work out at all. I walked a couple of miles this weekend, and that felt great BUT its not enough. I want to make a major change.
I’ll keep you posted on my Scary Spice transition as the 90 days go along. Wish me luck and a lot of will power because I love chocolate chip cookies…lol. Nichole Ayanna signing off!
